About Leicester Pride

Leicester Pride is Leicester’s annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival, held at the beginning of September each year.

The event is free to attend and celebrates equality and diversity in our community. Leicester Pride is a family event with entertainment and attractions suitable for all ages. The event starts at 12 noon with a parade through the city centre leading to the festival site on Abbey Park.

The main stage features live singers, dance acts and cabaret from across the country whilst the DJ tent features the best local DJs. Previous acts include Sam Bailey, Woody Cook, Blazing Squad, Lisa Lashes, Keiron Richardson, PJ Brennan, Diva Fever, Addict Dance, Miss Penny, Ms Marty, Thunderpussy and many more.

There is a variety of food and drink available and plenty to see and buy in the market stalls area. A selection of fair ground rides and games are also provided by Billy Bates & Sons fun fair.

The event is attended by more 10,000 people each year with more than 2,000 taking part in the parade through the city.

The event has been running under the current team since 2009 and has grown from a small event based in the city to a full scale festival at Abbey Park.
